Nonlinear quantum-mechanical equations are derived for Langmuir waves in an isotropic electron collisionless plasma. A general analysis of dispersion relations is carried out for complex spectra of Langmuir waves and van Kampen waves in a quantum plasma with an arbitrary electron momentum distribution. Quantum nonlinear collisionless Landau damping in Maxwellian and degenerate plasmas is studied. It is shown that collisionless damping of Langmuir waves (including zero sound) occurs in collisionless plasmas due to quantum correction in the Cherenkov absorption condition, which is a purely quantum effect. Solutions to the quantum dispersion equation are obtained for a degenerate plasma.  相似文献

Quantum walk is different from random walk in reversibility and interference. Observation of the reduced re- versibility in a realistic quantum walk is of scientific interest in understanding the unique quantum behavior. We propose an idea to experimentally investigate the decoherence-induced irreversibility of quantum walks with trapped ions in phase space via the average fidelity decay. By introducing two controllable decoherence sources, i.e., the phase damping channel (i.e., dephasing) and the high temperature amplitude reservoir (i.e., dissipation), in the intervals between the steps of quantum walk, we find that the high temperature amplitude reservoir shows more detrimental effects than the phase damping channel on quantum walks. Our study also shows that the average fidelity decay works better than the position variance for characterizing the transition from quantum walks to random walk. Experimental feasibility to monitor the irreversibility is justified using currently available techniques.  相似文献

从量子相干性包括l1 norm相干性和量子相对熵相干性的角度建立了判定开放量子系统中非马尔可夫过程的方法, 并给出了相应的判别条件. 作为它们的具体应用, 研究了一个两能级系统分别经历相位衰减通道、 随机幺正通道和振幅耗散通道作用时对应的非马尔可夫过程发生必须满足的条件. 对于三种通道模型, 得到了l1 norm相干性对系统任意态非马尔可夫过程发生的判别条件, 并发现在相位衰减通道和振幅耗散通道中其非马尔可夫过程发生 的条件与用其他方式如信息回流、可分性和量子互熵给出的条件是相同的, 而在随机幺正通道中给出了一个新的且不完全等价于基于信息回流和可分性对应的条件. 至于量子相对熵相干性, 在相位衰减通道中得到了对系统任意态的非马尔可夫过程发生的具体条件, 并发现该条件也等同于基于信息回流、可分性和量子互熵给出的条件. 而在随机幺正通道和振幅耗散通道中得到了系统最大相干态对应的非马尔可夫过程发生的条件.  相似文献

Non-Maxwellian particle distribution functions possessing high energy tail and shoulder in the profile of distribution function considerably change the damping characteristics of the waves. In the present paper Landau damping of electron plasma (Langmuir) waves and ion-acoustic waves in a hot, isotropic, unmagnetized plasma is studied with the generalized (r,q) distribution function. The results show that for the Langmuir oscillations Landau damping becomes severe as the spectral index r or q reduces. However, for the ion-acoustic waves Landau damping is more sensitive to the ion temperature than the spectral indices.  相似文献

We study the dynamics of the quantum steering between two separated qubits trapped in a one-dimensional plasmonic waveguide. By numerical methods, we calculate the quantum steerability and other quantum correlations, i.e., entanglement, discord, and coherence, for both cases with and without laser driving fields. It is found that steerability may exhibit a sudden disappearance and sudden reappearance phenomenon. Specifically, there exist time windows with no steerability but finite entanglement. The effects of plasmon wavenumber and the distance between the two qubits on steerability are also examined. Furthermore, we show that quantum steerability is tunable by adjusting the laser driving fields.  相似文献

We study how Unruh effect and quantum noise affect the payoffs of a quantum conflicting interest Bayesian game. Three types of noisy channels, i.e., the amplitude damping channel, the depolarizing channel and the phase damping channel, are employed to model the decoherence processes. We find that Unruh effect weakens the payoffs in the quantum game and the quantum payoffs are lower than the classical payoffs when the acceleration parameter is large enough. However, the variation of the payoffs with the decoherence parameter is not always monotonic. Sometimes more decoherence may lead to higher payoffs.  相似文献

Parametric instabilities induced by the nonlinear interaction between high frequency quantum Langmuir waves and low frequency quantum ion-acoustic waves in quantum plasmas with the electron exchange-correlation effects are presented.By using the quantum hydrodynamic equations with the electron exchange-correlation correction,we obtain an effective quantum Zaharov model,which is then used to derive the modified dispersion relations and the growth rates of the decay and four-wave instabilities.The influences of the electron exchange-correlation effects and the quantum effects on the existence of quantum Langmuir waves and the parametric instabilities are discussed in detail.It is shown that the electron exchange-correlation effects and quantum effects are strongly coupled.The quantum Langmuir wave can propagate in quantum plasmas only when the electron exchange-correlation effects and the quantum effects satisfy a certain condition.The electron exchange-correlation effects tend to enhance the parametric instabilities,while quantum effects suppress the instabilities.  相似文献

Parametric instabilities induced by the coupling excitation between the high frequency quantum Langmuir waves and the low frequency quantum ion-acoustic waves in single-walled carbon nanotubes are studied with a quantum Zakharov model. By linearizing the quantum hydrodynamic equations, we get the dispersion relations for the high frequency quantum Langmuir wave and the low frequency quantum ion-acoustic wave. Using two-time scale method, we obtain the quantum Zaharov model in the cylindrical coordinates. Decay instability and four-wave instability are discussed in detail. It is shown that the carbon nanotube's radius, the equilibrium discrete azimuthal quantum number, the perturbed discrete azimuthal quantum number, and the quantum parameter all play a crucial role in the instabilities.  相似文献

An expression for the complex dielectric constant associated with direct interband transitions in germanium has been obtained using a simple model. The model consists of four damped oscillators, and a fit to experimental results for the complex dielectric constant is made to obtain the model parameters, i.e., the oscillator frequencies and damping constants. The results show good agreement with experimental data over a broad range of frequencies.  相似文献

The dispersion of plasma waves in systems of various dimensions is investigated up to the end point of the spectrum. In 2D and 3D systems, the plasmon spectrum still ends (due to Landau damping) within the applicability range of the quasi-classical approximation, i.e., for ?k ? p F (?k is the plasmon momentum and p F is the electron Fermi momentum). In 1D systems, the results are qualitatively different, since the Landau damping is concentrated in a region where the quantum effects cannot be ignored. This peculiarity of 1D systems gives rise to undamped branches of acoustic plasmons with a phase velocity lower than the electron Fermi velocity in multicomponent 1D plasmas.  相似文献

For a typical building acoustics configuration, a T-junction of plates formed by a light weight wall placed on a heavy floor, a statistical energy analysis (SEA) model is presented. Only structural systems (i.e., no acoustic wavefields) are considered. Besides bending waves also in-plane waves, quasi-longitudinal and plane transverse waves, in particular, are included in the calculation. A parametric survey is conducted on the T-junction model—for one frequency (1000 Hz) only—in order to find the sensitivity of the SEA model to the inaccuracies of its parameters. It is shown that, when using reverberation time measurements of the plates to determine the internal damping loss factors, the worst case variations of the internal damping loss factors cause variations in the junction dampings of bending waves of about one order higher than any of the other parameters. Therefore, the conclusion is that in cases where the internal damping loss factors are large with respect to the coupling loss factors, it is necessary to obtain more accurate estimates for the internal damping loss factors than are found with simple reverberation time measurements of plates.  相似文献

We develop a classical model of the recently popular parametric effect of electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT), i.e., the formation of a “transparency window” inside a resonance absorption line of a three-level quantum system, which is accompanied by a record strong slowing of the probe wave. Based on this model, we consider the EIT effect for electromagnetic waves at frequencies of the electron-cyclotron resonance in a cold plasma. The parametric (three-wave) interaction of two electromagnetic modes (the frequency of one of these modes is equal to the electron gyrofrequency) with the electrostatic mode is considered. It is shown that the resonance growth in the electron oscillations at the gyrofrequency can be damped due to the parametric coupling with the collective electrostatic oscillations. Similar to analogous quantum systems, the group slowing of the probe electron-cyclotron wave in the transparency window takes place in the case considered.  相似文献

Based on the quantum Magnetohydrodynamic (QMHD) model, the obliquely propagation of electrostatic waves in degenerate magnetized quantum plasmas with electron exchange-correlation effects are theoretically investigated. The modified linear dispersion relations of electrostatic waves are obtained and discussed in some specific cases. The analytical results clearly show that the dispersion properties of the high frequency electron waves (including the Langmuir wave and upper-hybrid wave) and the low frequency ion acoustic wave are modified by the quantum effects together with the electron exchange-correlation effects. The numerical results depict that the Langmuir wave and upper-hybrid wave can be unstable in the presence of the electron exchange-correlation effects, and it is also evidently indicated that the electron exchange-correlation effects can reduce the phase velocity of the waves, especially in the high wave number region. The corresponding results should be of relevance for identifying electrostatic fluctuations which transport in an inhomogeneous and magnetized quantum plasmas.  相似文献

A relativistic annular electron beam passing through a high-density plasma excites Langmuir waves via Cerenkov interaction. The Langmuir waves are backscattered off ions via nonlinear ion Landau damping. At moderately high amplitudes these waves are parametrically up-converted by the beam into high-frequency electromagnetic radiation, as observed in some recent experiments. A nonlocal theory of this process is developed in a cylindrical geometry. It is seen that the growth rate of the Langmuir wave scales as one-third the power of beam density. We study nonlocality effects of a bulk plasmalike dielectric medium on the plasmon spectrum of a one-dimensional (1D) quantum wire superlattice in interaction with the 3D nonlocal host bulk plasma, by carrying out a closed-form analytic determination of the inverse dielectric function κ for the joint nanostructure system within the random phase approximation (RPA), in which we treat nonlocality of the 1D superlattice in the RPA and that of the bulk medium in the hydrodynamic model. By examining the frequency poles of κ (i.e., the dispersions relations), we show analytically that coupled plasmon modes of the interacting 1D superlattice-3D nonlocal host are damped in high frequencies (damping is pronounced near resonance region) and that nonlocality of the host medium introduces nonlocal low frequency (real) modes into the spectrum, which have cutoff frequencies for finite wave vector values. In order to describe the impact of nonlocality effects more clearly, we also examine the spectrum numerically.  相似文献

We investigate the propagation of density and temperature waves in a cylindrically trapped gas with radial harmonic confinement. Starting from two-fluid hydrodynamic theory we derive effective 1D equations for the chemical potential and the temperature which explicitly account for the effects of viscosity and thermal conductivity. Differently from quantum fluids confined by rigid walls, the harmonic confinement allows for the propagation of both first and second sound in the long wavelength limit. We provide quantitative predictions for the two sound velocities of a superfluid Fermi gas at unitarity. For shorter wavelengths we discover a new surprising class of excitations continuously spread over a finite interval of frequencies. This results in a nondissipative damping in the response function which is analytically calculated in the limiting case of a classical ideal gas.  相似文献

Nonlinear instabilities driven by waves with frequencies comparable to the lower hybrid frequency are examined both analtyically and numerically using particle simulation techniques. Both the oscillating two-stream and ion-cyclotron instabilities are discussed. It is found that ion-cyclotron damping can be a more effective mechanism for driving instabilities in a hot tokamak plasma than electron Landau damping. Despite the one-dimensional nature of the simulation, the simulation results are useful for the interpretation of data obtained in recent lower hybrid heating experiments.  相似文献

本文给出了等离子体中由动力学理论所得到的形成强湍流的高频和低频非线性电流的表达式。根据文献[2]给出的包含有质动力、自生磁场和它们的阻尼效应的方程组,我们推广了Kono等人关于调制不稳定性的分析,得到了在各种情况下由Langmuir波或横波pump波激发的纵波和横波的增长率与参量的关系式。最后,讨论了波包的坍缩动力学问题,把非线性Schrodinger方程的坍缩讨论推广到密度和场耦合的方程组的情况。 关键词:  相似文献

We study the attenuation, caused by weak damping, of harmonic waves through a discrete, periodic structure with frequency nominally within the Propagation Zone (i.e., propagation occurs in the absence of the damping). The period of the structure consists of a linear stiffness and a weak linear/nonlinear damping. Adapting the transfer matrix method and using harmonic balance for the nonlinear terms, a four-dimensional linear/nonlinear map governing the dynamics is obtained. We analyze this map by applying the method of multiple scales upto first order. The resulting slow evolution equations give the amplitude decay rate in the structure. The approximations are validated by comparing with other analytical solutions for the linear case and full numerics for the nonlinear case. Good agreement is obtained. The method of analysis presented here can be extended to more complex structures.  相似文献
