The cross sections and forward-backward asymmetries of hadronic and leptonic events produced in collisions at centre-of-mass energies from 130 to 183 GeV are presented. Results for , , , , and production show no significant deviation from the Standard Model predictions. This enables constraints to be set upon physics beyond the Standard Model such as four-fermion contact interactions, leptoquarks, bosons and R-parity violating squarks and sneutrinos. Limits on the energy scale of contact interactions are typically in the range from 2 to 10 TeV. Limits on R-parity violating sneutrinos reach masses of a few hundred GeV/ for large values of their Yukawa couplings. Received: 8 March 1999 / Published online: 8 December 1999  相似文献

The data collected with the DELPHI detector at centre-of-mass energies between 130 and 172 GeV, during LEP operation in 1995 and 1996, have been used to determine the hadronic and leptonic cross-sections and leptonic forward–backward asymmetries. In addition, the cross-section ratios and forward–backward asymmetries for flavour-tagged samples of light (uds), c and b quarks have been measured. No significant deviations from the Standard Model expectations are found. The results are interpreted by performing S-matrix fits to these data and to the data collected previously at the energies near the resonance peak (88-93 GeV). The results are also interpreted in terms of physics beyond the Standard Model: contact interactions, R-parity violating SUSY particle exchange and of possible Z bosons. The recent observations of the purely leptonic decay Ds+→μ+νμ and τ+ντ at CLEO-c and B factory may allow a possible contribution from a charged Higgs boson. One such measurement of the decay constant fD. differs from the most precise unquenched lattice QCD calculation by a level of 4 σ. Meanwhile, the measured ratio, BR(Ds+→μ+νμ)/BR(D+→μ+νμ), is larger than the standard model prediction at a 2.0σ level. We discuss that the precise measurement of the ratio BR(Ds+→μ+νμ)/BR(D+→μ+νμ) at BES-Ⅲ will shed light on the presence of new intermediate particles by comparing the data with the theoretical predictions, especially, the predictions of high precise unquenched lattice QCD calculations.  相似文献

In contrast with B0-ˉB0, Bs-ˉBs mixing where the standard model(SM) contributions overwhelm that of the new physics beyond standard model(BSM), a measured relatively large D0-ˉD0mixing where the SM contribution is negligible, definitely implies the existence of the new physics BSM. It is natural to consider that the rare decays of D meson might be more sensitive to new physics, and the decay mode D0→μ+μ-could be an ideal area to search for new physics because it is a flavor changing process. In this work we look for a trace of the new physics BSM in the leptonic decays of D0. Concretely we discuss the contributions of unparticle or an extra gauge boson Z while imposing the constraints set by fitting the D0-ˉD0mixing data. We find that the long-distance SM effects for D0→lˉl still exceed those contributions of the BSM under consideration, but for a double-flavor changing process such as D0→μ±e, the new physics contribution would be significant.  相似文献

We investigate in detail the effects of R-parity lepton number violation on the decay b1→bχ10 in the R-parity violating minimal supersymmetric standard model (Rp-MSSM) under the present experimental constraints on Rp parameters. In our numerical calculations we consider two cases of input parameters of the squark and slepton sectors, Msquark<Mslepton and Msquark>Mslepton, for comparison. The results show that the relative R-parity violating correction is not very sensitive to the mass of the lightest neutralino χ10 and the degenerate R-parity violating coupling parameter λ2, but strongly depends on Msquark, Mslepton, tan β and the degenerate R-parity violating coupling parameter λ1. The relative correction is about -4~3% and can exceed -6% in some region of parameter space. Therefore, precise experiment analyses on the decay b1→bχ10 may provide a probe of the R-parity violation.  相似文献

We study the pure leptonic decays Bs,d → μ^μ^- in a Flavor Changing ZI Model. From the recent measurements of the branching ratios B(Bs,d → μ^μ^-), we have derived the bounds on the effective μ-μ-Z' lepton coupling Bμμ^L. We find that, (i) if neglecting the contribution from the right-handed lepton coupling R L Bμμ^R, we obtain 1.32 〈 Bμμ^L 〈 3.32; (ii) if considering the contribution from the right-handed lepton coupling Bμμ^R and setting Bμμ^R and setting Bμμ^L= Bμμ^R, we obtain 0.99 〈 Bμμ^L 〈 2.19. Our results could be useful for researching Z' effects.  相似文献

We present the first model independent search for three-jet hadronic resonances within multijet events in sqrt(s) = 1.96 TeV pp collisions at the Fermilab Tevatron using the CDF II detector. Pair production of supersymmetric gluinos and squarks with hadronic R-parity violating decays is employed as an example of a new physics benchmark for this signature. Selection criteria based on the kinematic properties of an ensemble of jet combinations within each event help to extract signal from copious QCD background. No significant excess outside the top quark mass window is observed in data with an integrated luminosity of 3.2 fb(-1). We place 95% confidence level limits on the production cross section σ(pp → XX')×BR(gg → 3 jet + 3 jet) where X, X' = g, q, or q, with q, q → g + jet, as a function of gluino mass, in the range of 77 GeV/c2 to 240 GeV/c2.  相似文献

We present the physics program of the open charm and heavy cc states above the DD production energy threshold, which will be studied with the BES-Ⅲ detector at the BEPC- Ⅱ collider in the coming years. Based on some full Monte Carlo simulations with the BES-Ⅲ detector, we predict the accuracy levels on measuring some physical quantities related to D^0, D^+ and Ds^+ decays as well as some non-charmed decays of the heavy cc states.  相似文献

We present the full two-loop β-functions for the MSSM including R-parity violating couplings. We analyse the effect of two-loop running on the bounds on R-parity violating couplings, on the nature of the LSP and on the stop masses.  相似文献

The T-parity in the littlest Higgs model can be broken by the anomalous Wess-Zumino-Witten term, which leads that the lightest T-odd gauge boson AH decays into the SM particles. First, we examine some lepton flavor violating decays of AH, namely AH→τ±μ, AH→τ±e, and AH→μ±e. We find that the branching ratios can reach 10-7 for AH→τ±μ, 10-8 for AH→τ±e, and 10-8 for AH→μ±e. Then, we study the lepton flavor violating plus jets signatures of the heavy charged gauge boson and mirror quarks at the LHC, and find that it is possible to be detected for pp→qHqH→τ±μ+4 jets, and hardly to be detected for pp→qHqH→τ±e±e)+4 jets and pp→ WHWH→τ±μ±e, μ±e)+6 jets.  相似文献

The possible phenomenological consequences of R-parity violating interactions in the framework of low energy supersymmetry breaking are studied. It is pointed out that even very weak R-parity violation would completely overshadow one of the basic signatures of low energy supersymmetry breaking models, that is the decay of the next to lightest supersymmetric particle into a photon (lepton) and missing energy. Thus, the observation of these decays would put very strong limits on R-parity violating couplings. Vice-versa, if R-parity violation is established experimentally, before a detailed knowledge of the spectrum is obtained, it will be very difficult to distinguish gravity mediated from low energy gauge mediated supersymmetry breaking scenarios. Those conclusions are very model independent. We also comment on the possibility of mixing between charged and neutral leptons with charginos and neutralinos, respectively, and its phenomenological consequences for the photon (lepton) signatures, in scenarios where this mixing is generated by the presence of bilinear or trilinear R-parity violating terms in the superpotential.  相似文献

The recent measurements of the Bs mass difference Δ Ms by the CDF and DO collaborations are roughly consistent with the Standard Model predictions, therefore, these measurements will afford an opportunity to constrain new physics scenarios beyond the Standard Model. We consider the impact of the R-parity violating supersymmetry in the B0s—B0s mixing, and use the latest experimental results of ΔMs to constrain the size of the R-parity violating tree level couplings in the B0s—B0s mixing. Then, using the constrained RPV parameter space from ΔMs, we show the R-parity violating effects on the Bs width difference ΔΓs.  相似文献

Recently, the LHCb collaboration reported the first evidence for the decay B0s→μ+μ-. A branching ratio of B(B0s→μ+μ-)=(3.2+1.51.2)×10 9is given. Using the newest data, and together with the most precise predictions of the Standard Model contributions to the decay, we derive the constraints on the combinations of the R-parity violating parameters. Our results are several orders of magnitudes stronger than the constraints in the previous literature. We also update the constraints on the relevant parameters using the upper limit ofB(B0d→μ+μ-).  相似文献

We search for pair production of supersymmetric top quarks (t over1), followed by R-parity violating decay t over1-->taub with a branching ratio beta, using 322 pb(-1) of pp over collisions at sqrt s=1.96 TeV collected by the upgraded Collider Detector at Fermilab. Two candidate events pass our final selection criteria, consistent with the standard model expectation. We set upper limits on the cross section sigma(t over1t over1) x beta2 as a function of the top-squark mass m(t over1). Assuming beta=1, we set a 95% confidence level limit m(t over1)>153 GeV/c2. The limits are also applicable to the case of a third-generation scalar leptoquark (LQ3) decaying LQ3-->taub.  相似文献

We present the results of a search for pair production of scalar top quarks (t(1)) in an R-parity violating supersymmetry scenario in 106 pb(-1) of pp collisions at square root of s=1.8 TeV collected by the Collider Detector at Fermilab. In this mode each t(1) decays into a tau lepton and a b quark. We search for events with two tau's, one decaying leptonically (e or mu) and one decaying hadronically, and two jets. No candidate events pass our final selection criteria. We set a 95% confidence level lower limit on the t(1) mass at 122 GeV/c(2) for Br(t(1)-->tau b)=1.  相似文献

We prove that any product of R-parity violating couplings λ′ (L-violating) and λ″ (B-violating) can be strongly restricted by proton decay data. For any pair λ′ and λ″ the decay exists at least at one loop level. For squark masses below 1 TeV we find the conservative bounds |λ′ · λ″| < 10−9 in absence of squark flavor mixing, and |λ′ · λ″| < 10−11 when this mixing is taken into account. We study the dependence of the bounds on the flavor basis in which R-parity breaking couplings are determined.  相似文献

In the framework of R-parity violating supersymmetry, we investigate the time dependent CP asymmetry SφKs anomaly of B→φKs decay. When the values of the weak phase φ in the R-parity violating coupling fall into certain parameter spaces (246°<φ<263°) we find that this anomaly can be easily ex-plained; at the same time, the branching ratio of B →φKs decay can also be in agreement with experimental measurements.  相似文献

In supersymmetric models with lepton-number violation, hence also R-parity violation, it is easy to have realistic neutrino masses, but then leptogenesis becomes difficult to achieve. After explaining the general problems involved, we study the details of a model which escapes these constraints and generates a lepton asymmetry, which gets converted into the present observed baryon asymmetry of the Universe through the electroweak sphalerons. This model requires the presence of certain nonholomorphic R-parity violating terms. For completeness we also present the most general R-parity violating Lagrangian with soft nonholomorphic terms and study their consequences for the charged-scalar mass matrix. New contributions to neutrino masses in this scenario are discussed.  相似文献

We present the full result for the down squark mass-squared matrix in the complete theory of supersymmetry without R parity where all kinds of R-parity violating terms are admitted without bias using an optimal parametrization. The major result is a new contribution to LR squark mixing, involving both bilinear and trilinear R-parity violating couplings. Among other things, the latter leads to neutron electric dipole moment at one-loop level. Similar mechanisms lead to electron electric dipole moment at the same level. We present here a short report on major features of neutron electric dipole moment from supersymmetry without R parity and give the interesting constraints obtained.  相似文献

We investigate the lepton flavor violation processes pp→eμX induced by R-parity violating interactions at the Tevatron hadron collider. The theoretical calculation and Monte Carlo simulation demonstrate that with a set of suitable cuts on experimental observables, one might be capable to reduce the standard model physical background to a controllable level so that the signals of R-parity violating interactions could be detected distinctively. Furthermore, clear sneutrino information can be abstracted from the purified event sample where other SUSY scalar quark ``pollution' is heavily suppressed. We conclude that with a reasonable assumption of 10 fb-1 integrated luminosity, the experiments at the Tevatron machine would have potential to discover sneutrino in the region of m_{\tilde{ν}}≤400 GeV via lepton flavor violation eμ production channels, or extend the mass scale constraint up to m_{\tilde{ν}}≥ 550 GeV at 95% CL.  相似文献
