In this paper, we investigated Hopf bifurcation by analyzing the distributed ranges of eigenvalues of characteristic linearized equation. Using communication delay as the bifurcation parameter, linear stability criteria dependent on communication delay have also been derived, and, furthermore, the direction of Hopf bifurcation as well as stability of periodic solution for the exponential RED algorithm with communication delay is studied. We find that the Hopf bifurcation occurs when the communication delay passes a sequence of critical values. The stability and direction of the Hopf bifurcation are determined by applying the normal form theory and the center manifold theorem. Finally, a numerical simulation is presented to verify the theoretical results.  相似文献

本文主要研究了一个改进的带时滞和无选择捕获函数的捕食-食饵生态经济系统的稳定性和Hopf分支.利用微分代数系统的稳定性理论和分支理论,得到了系统正平衡点稳定性的条件,以及当时滞τ作为分支参数时系统产生Hopf分支的条件.对Leslie-Gower捕食-食饵模型进行了一定程度的完善,使得建立的模型更符合实际情况,因此得到的结论也更加科学.  相似文献

A differential delay equation model with a discrete time delay and a distributed time delay is introduced to simulate zooplankton–nutrient interaction. The differential inequalities’ methods and standard Hopf bifurcation analysis are applied. Some sufficient conditions are obtained for persistence and for the global stability of the unique positive steady state, respectively. It was shown that there is a Hopf bifurcation in the model by using the discrete time delay as a bifurcation parameter.  相似文献

In this paper, we investigate a reaction–diffusion–advection model with time delay effect. The stability/instability of the spatially nonhomogeneous positive steady state and the associated Hopf bifurcation are investigated when the given parameter of the model is near the principle eigenvalue of an elliptic operator. Our results imply that time delay can make the spatially nonhomogeneous positive steady state unstable for a reaction–diffusion–advection model, and the model can exhibit oscillatory pattern through Hopf bifurcation. The effect of advection on Hopf bifurcation values is also considered, and our results suggest that Hopf bifurcation is more likely to occur when the advection rate increases.  相似文献

The complexity of a nonlinear dynamical system is controllable via a selection of system parameters. One representative behavior of such a complex system can be illustrated by Hopf bifurcation. This paper presents a Hopf bifurcation analysis of a kind of integro-differential equations with unbounded delay. Based on the Hopf bifurcation principle, a set of relationships among system parameters are obtained when a periodic orbit exists in the system. A numerical analysis is applied to solve the integro-differential delay equation. This paper proves the existence of Hopf bifurcation in the corresponding difference equations under the same system parameters as that in the integro-differential delay equations.  相似文献

This paper studied the stability and Hopf bifurcation of a type of protein synthesis system with time delay and negative feedback. Firstly, it is proved theoretically that the time delay, nonlinearity in the protein production and the cooperativity in the negative feedback are key factors to generate circadian oscillation; Taking time delay as a parameter, we obtained the critical value of the time delay that Hopf bifurcation generates. Secondly, based on the center manifold and normal form theorem, we derived the formulas for determining the stability of bifurcating periodic solutions and the supercritical or subcritical Hopf bifurcation. In this paper, we investigate a novel congestion control algorithm, i.e., exponential RED algorithm, with communication delay. We derive some necessary and sufficient conditions ensuring Hopf bifurcation to occur for this model. By choosing the delay as a bifurcation parameter, we demonstrated that Hopf bifurcation would occur when the delay exceeds a critical value. A formula for determining the bifurcation direction and stability of bifurcation periodic solutions is given by applying the normal form theory and the center manifold theorem. In this paper, we investigate the stability and Hopf bifurcation of a diffusive predator-prey system with herd behaviour. The model is described by introducing both time delay and nonlocal prey intraspecific competition. Compared to the model without time delay, or without nonlocal competition, thanks to the together action of time delay and nonlocal competition, we prove that the first critical value of Hopf bifurcation may be homogenous or non-homogeneous. We also show that a double-Hopf bifurcation occurs at the intersection point of the homogenous and non-homogeneous Hopf bifurcation curves. Furthermore, by the computation of normal forms for the system near equilibria, we investigate the stability and direction of Hopf bifurcation. Numerical simulations also show that the spatially homogeneous and non-homogeneous periodic patters.  相似文献

In this paper, a tumor immune model with time delay is studied. First, the stability of nonnegative equilibria is analyzed. We revisit Nicholson?s blowflies model with natural death rate incorporated into the delay feedback. We consider the delay as a bifurcation parameter and examine the onset and termination of Hopf bifurcations of periodic solutions from a positive equilibrium. We show that the model has only a finite number of Hopf bifurcation values and we describe how branches of Hopf bifurcations are paired so the existence of periodic solutions with specific oscillation frequencies occurs only in bounded delay intervals. The bifurcation analysis and the Matlab package DDE-BIFTOOL developed by Engelborghs et al. guide some numerical simulations to identify ranges of parameters for coexisting multiple attractive periodic solutions.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider the dynamics of a delayed diffusive predator-prey model with herd behavior and hyperbolic mortality under Neumann boundary conditions. Firstly, by analyzing the characteristic equations in detail and taking the delay as a bifurcation parameter, the stability of the positive equilibria and the existence of Hopf bifurcations induced by delay are investigated. Then, applying the normal form theory and the center manifold argument for partial functional differential equations, the formula determining the properties of the Hopf bifurcation are obtained. Finally, some numerical simulations are also carried out and we obtain the unstable spatial periodic solutions, which are induced by the subcritical Hopf bifurcation.  相似文献

In this paper, an age‐structured population model with the form of neutral functional differential equation is studied. We discuss the stability of the positive equilibrium by analyzing the characteristic equation. Local Hopf bifurcation results are also obtained by choosing the mature delay as bifurcation parameter. On the center manifold, the normal form of the Hopf bifurcation is derived, and explicit formulae for determining the criticality of bifurcation are theoretically given. Moreover, the global continuation of Hopf bifurcating periodic solutions is investigated by using the global Hopf bifurcation theory of neutral equations. This work represents Hopf bifurcation analysis of a general non-linear differential equation involving time delay. A special form of this equation is the Hutchinson–Wright equation which is a mile stone in the mathematical modeling of population dynamics and mathematical biology. Taking the delay parameter as a bifurcation parameter, Hopf bifurcation analysis is studied by following the theory in the book by Hazzard et al. By analyzing the associated characteristic polynomial, we determine necessary conditions for the linear stability and Hopf bifurcation. In addition to this analysis, the direction of bifurcation, the stability and the period of a periodic solution to this equation are evaluated at a bifurcation value by using the Poincaré normal form and the center manifold theorem. Finally, the theoretical results are supported by numerical simulations.  相似文献

The stability and bifurcation of a van der Pol-Duffing oscillator with the delay feedback are investigated, in which the strength of feedback control is a nonlinear function of delay. A geometrical method in conjunction with an analytical method is developed to identify the critical values for stability switches and Hopf bifurcations. The Hopf bifurcation curves and multi-stable regions are obtained as two parameters vary. Some weak resonant and non-resonant double Hopf bifurcation phenomena are observed due to the vanishing of the real parts of two pairs of characteristic roots on the margins of the “death island” regions simultaneously. By applying the center manifold theory, the normal forms near the double Hopf bifurcation points, as well as classifications of local dynamics are analyzed. Furthermore, some quasi-periodic and chaotic motions are verified in both theoretical and numerical ways.  相似文献

In this paper, the diffusion is introduced to an immunosuppressive infection model with delayed antiviral immune response. The direction and stability of Hopf bifurcation are effected by time delay, in the absence of which the positive equilibrium is locally asymptotically stable by means of analyzing eigenvalue spectrum; however, when the time delay increases beyond a threshold, the positive equilibrium loses its stability via the Hopf bifurcation. The stability and direction of the Hopf bifurcation is investigated with the norm form and the center manifold theory. The stability of the Hopf bifurcation leads to the emergence of spatial spiral patterns. Numerical calculations are performed to illustrate our theoretical results. The purpose of this paper is to study bifurcation of an Internet congestion control algorithm, namely REM (Random Exponential Marking) algorithm, with communication delay. By choosing the delay constant as a bifurcation parameter, we prove that REM algorithm exhibits Hopf bifurcation. The formulas for determining the direction of the Hopf bifurcation and the stability of bifurcating periodic solutions are obtained by applying the center manifold theorem and the normal form theory. The dynamics of a class of abstract delay differential equations are investigated. We prove that a sequence of Hopf bifurcations occur at the origin equilibrium as the delay increases. By using the theory of normal form and centre manifold, the direction of Hopf bifurcations and the stability of the bifurcating periodic solutions is derived. Then, the existence of the global Hopf bifurcation of the system is discussed by applying the global Hopf bifurcation theorem of general functional differential equation.  相似文献
