We propose a new approach to construct structure-preserving algorithms for Birkhoffian systems. First, the Pfaff–Birkhoff variational principle is discretized, and based on the discrete variational principle the discrete Birkhoffian equations are obtained. Then, taking the discrete equations as an algorithm, the corresponding discrete flow is proved to be symplectic. That means the algorithm preserves the symplectic structure of Birkhoffian systems. Simulation results of the given example indicate that structure-preserving algorithms obtained by this method have great advantage in conserving conserved quantities.  相似文献

In [49] H. Widom derived formulae expressing correlation functions of orthogonal and symplectic ensembles of random matrices in terms of orthogonal polynomials. We obtain similar results for discrete ensembles with rational discrete logarithmic derivative, and compute explicitly correlation kernels associated to the classical Meixner and Charlier orthogonal polynomials.  相似文献

In the previous papers I and II,we have studied the difference discrete variational principle and the Euler-Lagrange cohomology in the framework of multi-parameter differential approach. We have gotten the difference discrete Euler-Lagrange equations and canonical ones for the difference discrete versions of classical mechanics and field theory as well as the difference discrete versions for the Euler-Lagrange cohomology and applied them to get the necessary and sufficient condition for the symplectic or multisymplectic geometry preserving properties in both the lagrangian and Hamiltonian formalisms. In this paper,we apply the difference discrete variational principle and Euler-Lagrange cohomological approach directly to the symplectic and multisymplectic algorithms. We will show that either Hamiltonian schemes of Lagrangian ones in both the symplectic and multisymplectic algorithms are variational integrators and their difference discrete symplectic structure-preserving properties can always be established not only in the solution space but also in the function space if and only if the related closed Euler-Lagrange cohomological conditions are satisfied.  相似文献

In many cases rational surfaces obtained by desingularization of birational dynamical systems are not relatively minimal. We propose a method to obtain coordinates of relatively minimal rational surfaces by using blowing down structure. We apply this method to the study of various integrable or linearizable mappings, including discrete versions of reduced Nahm equations.  相似文献

We introduce the Euler-Lagrange cohomology to study the symplectic and multisymplectic structures and their preserving properties in finite and infinite dimensional Lagrangian systems respectively. We also explore their certain difference discrete counterparts in the relevant regularly discretized finite and infinite dimensional Lagrangian systems by means of the difference discrete variational principle with the difference being regarded as an entire grometric object and the noncommutative differential calculus on regular lattice. In order to show that in all these cases the symplectic and multisymplectic preserving properties do not necessarily depend on the relevant Euler-Lagrange equations, the Euler-Lagrange cohomological concepts and content in the configuration space are employed.  相似文献

In this paper, we compare the behaviour of one symplectic and three multisymplectic methods for Maxwell’s equations in a simple medium. This is a system of PDEs with symplectic and multisymplectic structures. We give a theoretical discussion of how some numerical methods preserve the discrete versions of the local and global conservation laws and verify this behaviour in numerical experiments. We also show that these numerical methods preserve the divergence. Furthermore, we extend the discussion on dispersion for (multi)symplectic methods applied to PDEs with one spatial dimension, to include anisotropy when applying (multi)symplectic methods to Maxwell’s equations in two spatial dimensions. Lastly, we demonstrate how varying the Courant–Friedrichs–Lewy (CFL) number can cause the (multi)symplectic methods in our comparison to behave differently, which can be explained by the study of backward error analysis for PDEs.  相似文献

We give the principal realization of the twisted Yangians of orthogonal and symplectic types. The new bases are interpreted in terms of discrete Fourier transform over the cyclic group ${\mathbb Z_N}$ .  相似文献

In this paper, we present a new integration algorithm based on the discrete Pfaff-Birkhoff principle for Birkhoffian systems. It is proved that the new algorithm can preserve the general symplectic geometric structures of Birkhoffian systems. A numerical experiment for a damping oscillator system is conducted. The result shows that the new algorithm can better simulate the energy dissipation than the R-K method, which illustrates that we can numerically solve the dynamical equations by the discrete variational method in a Birkhoffian framework for the systems with a general symplectic structure. Furthermore, it is demonstrated that the results of the numerical experiments are determined not by the constructing methods of Birkhoffian functions but by whether the numerical method can preserve the inherent nature of the dynamical system.  相似文献

An exactly integrable symplectic correspondence is derived which in a continuum limit leads to the equations of motion of the relativistic generalization of the Calogero-Moser system, that was introduced for the first time by Ruijsenaars and Schneider. For the discrete-time model the equations of motion take the form of Bethe Ansatz equations for the inhomogeneous spin-1/2 XYZ Heisenberg magnet. We present a Lax pair, the sympletic structure and prove the involutivity of the invariants. Exact solutions are investigated in the rational and hyperbolic (trigonometric) limits of the system that is given in terms of elliptic functions. These solutions are connected with discrete soliton equations. The results obtained allow us to consider the Bethe Ansatz equations as ones giving an integrable symplectic correspondence mixing the parameters of the quantum integrable system and the parameters of the corresponding Bethe wavefunction.Supported by the Nederlandse Organisatie voor Wetenschappelijk Onderzoek (NWO)  相似文献

A discrete matrix spectral problem and the associated hierarchy of Lax integrable lattice equations are presented, and it is shown that the resulting Lax integrable lattice equations are all Liouville integrable discrete Hamiltonian systems. A new integrable symplectic map is given by binary Bargmann constraint of the resulting hierarchy. Finally, an infinite set of conservation laws is given for the resulting hierarchy.  相似文献

The Zamolodchikov algebra is the next case after the Virasoro algebra in the natural hierarchy of the Poisson structures on linear differential equations. We describe here the complete classification of the symplectic leaves of this algebra. It turns out that each symplectic leaf is uniquely defined by the conjugacy class of the monodromy operator and one discrete (2- and 3-valued) invariant arising from the homotopy classes of nondegenerate curves.Research partially supported by NSF Grant DMS-90-01089  相似文献

In this paper, we study the integration of Hamiltonian wave equations whose solutions have oscillatory behaviors in time and/or space. We are mainly concerned with the research for multi-symplectic extended Runge–Kutta–Nyström (ERKN) discretizations and the corresponding discrete conservation laws. We first show that the discretizations to the Hamiltonian wave equations using two symplectic ERKN methods in space and time respectively lead to an explicit multi-symplectic integrator (Eleap-frogI). Then we derive another multi-symplectic discretization using a symplectic ERKN method in time and a symplectic partitioned Runge–Kutta method, which is equivalent to the well-known Störmer–Verlet method in space (Eleap-frogII). These two new multi-symplectic schemes are extensions of the leap-frog method. The numerical stability and dispersive properties of the new schemes are analyzed. Numerical experiments with comparisons are presented, where the two new explicit multi-symplectic methods and the leap-frog method are applied to the linear wave equation and the Sine–Gordon equation. The numerical results confirm the superior performance and some significant advantages of our new integrators in the sense of structure preservation.  相似文献

A discrete spectral problem is discussed, and a hierarchy of integrable nonlinear lattice equations related tothis spectral problem is devised. The new integrable symplectic map and finite-dimensional integrable systems are givenby nonlinearization method. The binary Bargmann constraint gives rise to a Backlund transformation for the resultingintegrable lattice equations.  相似文献

Starting from a discrete spectral problem, a hierarchy of integrable lattice soliton equations is derived. It is shown that the hierarchy is completely integrable in the Liouville sense and possesses discrete bi-Hamiltonian structure. A new integrable symplectic map and finite-dimensional integrable systems are given by nonlinearization method. The binary Bargmann constraint gives rise to a Bäcklund transformation for the resulting integrable lattice equations. At last, conservation laws of the hierarchy are presented.  相似文献

By means of a noncommutative differential calculus on function space of discrete Abelian groups and that of the regular lattice with equal spacing as well as the discrete symplectic geometry and a kind of classical mechanical systems with separable Hamiltonian of the type H(p, q) = T(p) + V(q) on regular lattice, we introduce the discrete symplectic algorithm, i.e., the phase-space discrete counterpart of the symplectic algorithm including original symplectic schemes and the jet-symplectic schemes in terms of the discrete time jet bundle formalism, on the regular lattice. We show some numerical calculation examples and compare the results of different schemes.  相似文献

In this paper, a classical system of ordinary differential equations is built to describe a kind of n-dimensional quantum systems. The absorption spectrum and the density of the states for the system are defined from the points of quantum view and classical view. From the Birkhoffian form of the equations, a Birkhoffian symplectic scheme is derived for solving n-dimensional equations by using the generating function method. Besides the Birkhoffian structure- preserving, the new scheme is proven to preserve the discrete local energy conservation law of the system with zero vector f . Some numerical experiments for a 3-dimensional example show that the new scheme can simulate the general Birkhoffian system better than the implicit midpoint scheme, which is well known to be symplectic scheme for Hamiltonian system.  相似文献

By choosing a discrete matrix spectral problem, a hierarchy of integrable differential-difference equations is derived from the discrete zero curvature equation, and the Hamiltonian structures are built. Through a higher-order Bargmann symmetry constraint, the spatial part and the temporal part of the Lax pairs and adjoint Lax pairs, which we obtained are respectively nonlinearized into a new integrable symplectic map and a finite-dimensional integrable Hamiltonian system in Liouville sense.  相似文献

In this work we consider a family of nonlinear oscillators that is cubic with respect to the first derivative. Particular members of this family of equations often appear in numerous applications. We solve the linearization problem for this family of equations, where as equivalence transformations we use generalized nonlocal transformations. We explicitly find correlations on the coefficients of the considered family of equations that give the necessary and sufficient conditions for linearizability. We also demonstrate that each linearizable equation from the considered family admits an autonomous Liouvillian first integral, that is Liouvillian integrable. Furthermore, we demonstrate that linearizable equations from the considered family does not possess limit cycles. Finally, we illustrate our results by two new examples of the Liouvillian integrable nonlinear oscillators, namely by the Rayleigh–Duffing oscillator and the generalized Duffing–Van der Pol oscillator.  相似文献
