Abstract: | A nonrelativistic charged particle moving in an anisotropic harmonicoscillator potential plus a homogeneous static electromagnetic fieldis studied. Several configurations of the electromagnetic field areconsidered. The Schrödinger equation is solved analytically in mostof the cases. The energy levels and wave functions are obtainedexplicitly. In some of the cases, the ground state obtained is not aminimum wave packet, though it is of the Gaussian type. Coherent andsqueezed states and their time evolution are discussed in detail. |
