Abstract:With improved Monte Carlo technique, the influence of a transverse field on the electron transport parameters in the cathode region of a DC glow discharge is studied. In the paper we consider four kinds of collisions between electrons and neutral particles. The results show that the magnetic field affects the electron transport parameters obviously through changing the collision rate between the electrons and neutral particles.
