| Abstract: | The kinetics of epoxidation of 2-methyl-2-pentene with cumene hydroperoxide catalyzed by MoO2 (acac)2 has been studied in the temperature range of 35–65°C. The observed kinetic behavior is consistent with the formation of a hydroperoxide-catalyst complex and a simple competitive inhibition step, involving the formation of an inactive epoxide-catalyst complex. The reaction parameters have been calculated. |
