| Abstract: | Abstract— It is demonstrated that the high energy reaction of photomorphogenesis (blue-far-red reaction) in the case of seed germination and hypocotyl lengthening of Lactuca sativa (L.) 'Grand Rapids' is a consequence solely of phytochrome. A hypothesis is presented in which all high energy phenomena can be explained on the basis of phytochrome. |
