| Abstract: | An enantiodivergent synthesis of both enantiomers of methylenolactocin is described through stereocontrolled addition of n-pentyl magnesium bromide to two d-mannitol-derived diastereomerically related aldehydes having an α-chiral center with a β hetero atom. |
