| Abstract: | Oxazolidine derivatives of β-amino alcohols such as ephedrine have been resolved by 13C NMR spectroscopy using Eu(hfc)3 as a chiral shift reagent. The method is quantitative in the determination of enantiomeric excess, and is advantageous where 1H NMR is of limited use owing, for example, to significant line broadening. |
