Abstract: | Hydrophobically modified polyacrylamide (HMPAM), as a foam stabilizer, was prepared with a cationic surfomer, acrylamide and acrylic acid by free-radical polymerization in aqueous solution. The actions of HMPAM on foam stability have been investigated with the Waring blender method. The results showed the foam containing HMPAM was stabler than that contained polyacrylamide. Moreover, a linear relationship between the logarithm of the half decay time and polymer concentration was observed, and the slope reflects the polymer ability to stabilize the foam. |
