| Abstract: | The title compound crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P21/n with cell dimensions a=13.068(3),b=22.378(8),c=31.188(10),β=92.09(2)°,V=9113.13,Mr=2010.7,Z=4,Dc=1.44 g/cm3,μ(MoKα)=28.8cm-1,F(000)=3828.R=0.102 and Rw=0.109 for 3863 unique reflections with I>2σ(I).The V atom in the compound retains the tetrahedral geometry of thefree VS43-with S-V-S angles ranging from 106.8(4) to 110.6(4)°.The coreVCu5Br2S4 of the compound can be regarded as a face-sharing distorted cubane-likegeometry with lack of an edge. |
