Beitrag zur Bestimmung von Schwefeldioxid mit Pararosanilin und Formaldehyd

Zusammenfassung Verschiedene handelsübliche Pararosanilin-Präparate werden auf ihre Eignung für die SO₂-Bestimmung nach West u. Gaeke untersucht. Die Absorptionsspektren der Pararosaniline in neutraler und salzsaurer Lösung, bzw. der mit Formaldehyd, Dichlorosulfitomercurat und salzsaurer Pararosanilinlösung entstehenden Farbstoffe werden verglichen. Trotz unterschiedlichen Verhaltens in salzsaurer Lösung sind die untersuchten Pararosaniline für die SO₂-Bestimmung brauchbar. Auf die Bedeutung einer Überprüfung der Präparate und den Einfluß der Farbentwicklungsdauer auf die Versuchsgenauigkeit wird hingewiesen.

Summary The suitability of various commercial pararosaniline reagents for the SO₂ determination by the West and Gaeke method was studied. The absorption spectra of the pararosaniline reagents in neutral and hydrochloric solutions, and the spectra of the dyestuffs developed by formaldehyde, dichlorosulphitomercurate and hydrochloric pararosaniline solution were compared. In spite of different behaviour in hydrochloric solution, the pararosaniline reagents studied were suitable for the SO₂ determination. The importance of a control of pararosaniline reagents and the influence of dyestuff developing time for the reproducibility of results were pointed out.
