Abstract: | In this paper, dynamic responses of long-span structures subjected to the action of earthquake with realistic wave speed are analysed. The horizontal or vertical ground motion due to earthquakes is assumed to be a stationary stochastic process, and the seismic waves travel along a horizontal straight line. Expressions for calculating the psd(power spectral density) matrices of structural displacements and internal forces are derived based on three dimensional FEM structural models with the ground motion phase-lags taken into account. A numerical example is given which shows that it is of great importance to consider the effect of the ground motion phase-lags for long-span structures.This work was supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China. |
