Abstract:A graphite furnace for AAS was used also for electrostatic collection.Airborne particles were collected on both positive electrode(graphite tube)and negative electrode (glassy-carbon wire).The glassy-carbon wire was fixed in the tube even during the atom- ization period.Freeze-dried aerosol from lead solutions was applied for calibration.The detection limit of Pb at 283.3nm was 0.60ng(confidence level 95%).The collection time of 5min was enough for the determination of 1000ng/m~3 lead in air.The described device was also applied to the determination of lead in water,and the detection limit was 1.4ng/g with 2 min collection time.
