Abstract:In this paper, we discuss the S-R decomposition theorem of finite deformation gradient in greater detail and point out that the views drew in literature [1] are erroneous. The finite rotation of a deformation body is different from the rigid rotation in physical concept. In physical space, a linear differential transformation of motion can always be decomposed into the sum of two subgroups--orthogonal and symmetric groups, and the result is anique.
