| Abstract: | This report describes the development of a semester course in  nano-scale characterization . The interdisciplinary course is opened to both advanced undergraduate and graduate students with a standard undergraduate preparation in Materials Science, Chemistry, or Physics. The approach is formal rather than the typical research seminar and has a laboratory component. |
