| Abstract: | The optical properties of incommensurately modulated calaverite (AuTe2) are presented. The surfaces of two melt-grown crystals were mechanically polished and turned out to be optically isotropic for reflection measurements. The surfaces recrystallized in several days. On recrystallizing optical anisotropy increased and a plasmon peak developed. |
