Electric field dependence of carrier temperature in semiconductors in the warm electron range

Abstract:The electric field dependence of carrier temperature in semiconductors in the warm electron range is theoretically studied for the case of an intermediate carrier concentration where the distribution function of the carriers is Maxwellian with an elevated carrier temperature and the momentum loss process is governed predominantly by scattering with optical phonons.
