Shock waves in soils and in water near the point of explosion

This paper gives a solution to the problem of the propagation of a plane shock wave in soils and in water; the solution was obtained by the method of characteristics using an electronic computer. Here, the soils were regarded as multicomponent media, in accordance with a previously proposed model 1, 2].
