Studies on the structural,kinetic and thermodynamic parameters of cellulose acetate membranes

Abstract:Hydraulic permeability (Lp), osmotic permeability (Lπ) and tritium permeability (ωTHO) have been measured for cellulose acetate membranes of varying water contents (Øw). The porosity factor (gp) has been calculated using the above parameters. Thermodynamic properties such as ΔG≠, ΔH≠, and ΔDwS≠ are estimated for the activated complex of the solute in the membrane phase using conductance measurements.
