Abstract:The operation of a narrow-bandwidth Self Filterillg Unstable Resonator (SFUR) of magnification |M|= 10 applied to a UV-preionized XeCl laser has been demonstrated. An intracavity grating (2400 lines/mm) at a grazing incidence angle (80°) has beenemployed to get a narrow-bandwidth SFUR. A 4.5 mm diameter output beam of 100 J, 19 ns duration and with a line width of 0.013 μm has been obtained. Measurements of the spectral and laser characteristics are reported, and the narrow-band width SFUR operation has been obtained.
