Abstract: | The infrared intensities of the three ring stretching modes; v5, v6 and v15 of a series of 2- and 3-substituted selenophenes have been measured. Using a previously developed valence bond approach these intensities are rationalised in terms of the σ0R constants of the substituent groups. |
