Synthesis of Chiral Benzimidazoles as Acylating Agents for Kinetic Resolution of Racemic α‐Amino Esters |

| Abstract: | A series of novel chiral 1‐benzoyl‐2‐(α‐N‐substituted aminoethyl)benzimidazoles are synthesized with the improved method in high yields (72–84%) and developed as nonenzymatic acylating agents for kinetic resolution of racemic α‐amino esters. The process exhibits high enantioselectivity (ee up to 94%) for α‐amino esters under mild reaction conditions. |
