Abstract: | The paper presents the effective stiffness theory for isotropie two-phase elastic composites. The theory predicts dispersion of longitudinal and transverse plane time-harmonic travelling waves. The limiting phase velocities at vanishing wave numbers serve in the determination of the elastic moduli of the equivalent homogeneous isotropic medium. These elastic moduli are compared with the effective moduli defined statically. |
