| Abstract: | The infrared and Raman spectra of the H2PO2?, HDPO2? and D2PO2? ions have been measured in aqueous solutions. The assignment of bands to the fundamental vibrations proposed is based on experimental tests, band polarisation measurements, application of all known isotopic rules and the construction and analysis of all the physically admissible assignments. The thermodynamic functions of the studied ions are calculated in the rigid rotator and harmonic vibrator approximation. |
