| Abstract: | Treatment 2‐arylmethyleneaminoisoindole‐1,3‐diones 1a – c with arenes in the presence of AlCl3‐DMF complex as a catalyst afforded the novel compounds, 2‐((arylidenehydrazono)(aryl)‐methyl)benzophenones 3a – n in satisfactory yields. The structure of the obtained products 3a – n was confirmed by the use of IR, 1H‐NMR, 13C‐NMR, mass spectra, and elemental analyses. |
