Further Results on Large Sets of Resolvable Idempotent Latin Squares

Abstract:An idempotent Latin square of order v is called resolvable and denoted by RILS(v) if the urn:x-wiley:10638539:jcd21305:equation:jcd21305-math-0001 off‐diagonal cells can be resolved into urn:x-wiley:10638539:jcd21305:equation:jcd21305-math-0002 disjoint transversals. A large set of resolvable idempotent Latin squares of order v, briefly LRILS(v), is a collection of urn:x-wiley:10638539:jcd21305:equation:jcd21305-math-0003 RILS(v)s pairwise agreeing on only the main diagonal. In this paper, it is established that there exists an LRILS(v) for any positive integer urn:x-wiley:10638539:jcd21305:equation:jcd21305-math-0004, except for urn:x-wiley:10638539:jcd21305:equation:jcd21305-math-0005, and except possibly for urn:x-wiley:10638539:jcd21305:equation:jcd21305-math-0006.
