A structure theorem for sum form functional equations

Abstract:Summary It is proved that, iff ij:]0, 1rarr C (i = 1, ctdot,k;j = 1, ctdot,l) are measurable, satisfy the equation (1) (with some functionsg it, hjt:]0, 1rarr C), then eachf ij is in a linear space (called Euler space) spanned by the functionsx rarr x lambdaj(logx) k (x isin]0, 1;j = 1, ctdot,M;k = 0, ctdot,m j – 1), wherelambda 1, ctdot, lambdaM are distinct complex numbers andm 1, ctdot, mM natural numbers. The dimension of this linear space is bounded by a linear function ofN.
