| Abstract: | The influence of an electric field on weak localization is investigated. The conductance of thin Au and Ag films is measured for different applied electric fields. The electronic temperature of the conduction electrons is directly measured by the magneto-conductance of the films. The electric field does not alter the conductance and discriminates between the theories by Altshuler et al. and Tsuzuki. |
