| Abstract: | Condensation of (E)-1,1,1-trifluoro-2-methyl-2-penten-4-one with malonodinitrile affords mixtures of unsaturated nitriles. Attempted cyclization of these nitriles in concentrated sulfuric acid furnishes derivatives of alkylidenecyanoacetamides and alkylidenemalonodiamide. |
