Benzene carbon-hydrogen bond activation using Ru(C6Me6)[PH(C6H11(2]H2

Abstract:The dihydride Ru(C6Me6)[PH(C6H11)2]H2 is synthesized in high yield by reducing Ru(C6Me6)[PH(C6H11)2]Cl2 with Na[AlH2(OCH2CH2OMe)2]. In benzene it loses hydrogen under UV irradiation to give Ru(C6Me6)[PH(C6H11(2]H(C6H5).
