Abstract: | Flocculated clay particles make up the suspended matter found in the waters of river estuaries, and their properties are strongly influenced by the flow field in which they find themselves. The size distribution of the clay flocs is determined by an equilibrium between the general tendency of the flow to enhance aggregation and break-up are investigated and expressions for the size distribution of the flocs are obtained. |
