| Abstract: | Abstract Reactions of the thienyl side chain functionalized cyclopentadienyls (C4H3S)C(R1R2)C5H5R1, R2 = CH3 (1); R1, R2 = (CH2)5 (2); R1, R2 = C2H5 (3)] with Ru3(CO)12 in refluxing xylene gave the corresponding cyclopentadienyl diruthenium carbonyl complexes (η
5-C4H3S)CR1R2(C5H4)Ru(CO)2]2 (R1, R2 = CH3 (4); R1, R2 = (CH2)5 (5); R1, R2 = C2H5 (6)), which were characterized by elemental analysis, IR and 1H NMR spectra. The molecular structures of 4, 5 and 6 were determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction. |
