| Abstract: | The separation of a premixed air-acetylene flame is described. The interconal zone of this flame exhibits very low radiative background, and is only slightly cooler than that of a normal air-acetylene flame. The use of the separated flame in flame photometry, for which it has several pronounced advantages, has been investigated. |
