Abstract:(S,E)-(+)-9-Hydroxydec-2E-enoic acid—a component of the queen pheromones of the honeybeeApis mellifera — has been synthesized by the enzymatic reduction of 9-oxodec-2E-enoic acid with the aid of baker's yeast.Institute of Petrochemistry and Catalysis, Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Bashkortostan, Ufa.
