Abstract: | Summary The metal complexes of the type [M(SB)2(H2O)2] and [M(SB)2][where M = MnII, CoII, NiII or CuII, M = ZnII CdII, HgII and PbII and SBH = 2-(2-hydroxyacetophenone)imino-5-(p-anisyl)-1,3,4-oxadiazole] have been prepared and characterised by elemental analyses, thermal analyses, magnetic measurements, electronic and infrared spectral studies. The complexes [M(SB)2(H2O)2] possess octahedral structures, whereas complexes [M(SB)2] are tetrahedral. The crystal field parameters of the CoII and NiII complexes are also calculated. |
