| Abstract: | Opiate receptors mediate the physiological actions of opioid peptides and the clinical effects of the synthetic opioid agonists and antagonists. Site-directed mutagenesis studies have revealed regions of opiate receptors that are essential for ligand recognition, and this could aid the design of more selective opioid ligands. |
