Abstract: | Within the accuracy of the plane-wave approximation, a solution of the boundary-value problem for the Maxwell equations is obtained for surface electromagnetic waves at the interface between a photorefractive crystal and a transparent isotropic medium. It is shown that in this case, of all the kinds of surface waves, only soliton-type waves can be generated. Characteristic parameters of these waves are determined for a photorefractive SBN (strontium-barium-niobate) crystal. |
