Abstract:The chiral resolution of malathion and fipronil enantiomers was performed by high-performance(liquid) chromatography with amylose tri-(S)-1-phenylethylcarbamate as chiral stationary phase.The mobile phase was n-hexane,with ethanol,1-propanol,2-propanol,1-butanol or 2-butanol used as polar modifiers.The flow rate was 1.0 mL/min and detecting wavelength was 230 nm.The best resolution factor for malathion was 0.85 with n-hexane/isopropanol as the mobile phase.The two enantiomers of fipronil could achieve baseline separation with the best resolution factor of 1.98.The optical rotations were determined by a circular(dichroism) detector.The elution order for malathion was /and that of fipronil was-/ at 230 nm.The circular dichroism spectra for the enantiomers were also studied.
