Abstract: | In research directed at the development of adenine triphosphate (ATP) analogs as potential glutamine synthetase (GS) inhibitors, adenine and allopurinol derivatives have been synthesized either as novel ATP analogs or as scaffolds for the construction of such analogs. Additional information ACKNOWLEDGMENTS We are grateful to the South African Department of Science and Technology (DST) Innovation Fund for a bursary (S. S.) and the Department of Science and Technology and Rhodes University for generous financial support. |
