Selective Decarboxylation: A Facile Synthesis of 3-Pyridinecarboxylic Acid Derivative

Abstract:A convenient synthesis of 5-trifluoromethyl-3-pyridinecarboxylic acid was developed, involving palladium-catalyzed carbonylation, hydrolysis, and decarboxylation. This novel route features inexpensive starting material and easy operations.
