| Abstract: | One-pot synthesis of benzimidazole compounds from ortho-phenylenediamine and a variety of aldehydes was developed under mild reaction conditions. All the reactions were carried out in the presence of samarium triflate (10 mol%) in acetonitrile at room temperature. |
