Abstract:
Ethynylferrocene was prepared in satisfactory yield by reaction of formylferrocene with triphenylphosphine and carbon tetrachloride followed by dehydrohalogenation in presence of n-butyllithum. The reaction condition is mild and the reaction time is much shorter. The method is convenient and economical.
