| Abstract: | Iodine-mediated cyclization of benzoc]thiophene aldehyde with 1,2-diphenylamine/2-aminophenylthiol led to the formation of benzimidazole/benzothiazole-incorporated benzoc]thiophenes. Similarly, reaction of benzoc]thiophene aldehyde with p-toluenesulfonylmethyl isocyanide (TOSMIC) reagent in the presence of K2CO3 as a base furnished oxazole-containing benzoc]thiophene analogs. |
