Abstract: | A modified form of the Uhlenbeck-Beth representation for the second virial coefficient is used, together with the Fredholm theory of two-particle scattering, to obtain an upper bound on the partial wave contribution to the coefficient which holds if the intermolecular potential is sufficiently weak. |
