Abstract: | The evolution of the electronic density of Ni d-states in Ti-Ni alloys with a change in the concentration of the components has been studied by photoelectron spectroscopy. It has been shown that the Ni d-band becomes narrower and shifts to higher energies with a decrease in the atomic concentration of Ni in Ti-Ni alloys. A qualitative explanation of the observed effects within the method of model Hamiltonians of itinerant electrons has been proposed. The mean-field description of the change in the density of states of d-electrons with increasing concentration of the alloy components reproduces the basic tendencies of the evolution of the experimental spectra. |
