Abstract:
Polarised radiation is required for many applications in optics. This paper describes several laser designs based on the variable configuration resonator, each capable of producing polarised output in a multirod resonator. Schematics for the designs are given and the modes of each cavity considered along with the stability of each resonator. Slope efficiencies as high as 45% and optical efficiencies of over 35% were observed in polarised operation with output powers as high as 10.2 W.
