Abstract: | A new type of an implosion has been observed experimentally and simulated in a numerical calculation: the formation of a quasi-spherical converging shock wave after the reflection of a ring shock wave from a solid wall. The conversion of the ring shock wave into the quasi-spherical converging shock wave intensifies the local implosion properties.This article was processed using Springer-Verlag TEX Shock Waves macro package 1.0 and the AMS fonts, developed by the American Mathematical Society. |
