Abstract: | Software for optimization of instrumental neutron activation analysis of geological samples, preferentially silicate rocks,
and a technique for evaluation and minimization of interference of gamma-ray lines are given. The maximum relevant signal-to-noise
ratio was taken as a criterion for optimization by taking into account information available from a large number of lines
in the gamma spectra studied.
